Let’s talk about the difference between hosting, domains and websites.
Building a website is a lot like building a house. When you go to build a house, the very first thing you’re going to need is a piece of land to build that house on.
That piece of land is synonymous to hosting when building a website.
Once you got your land you’re going to build your house, so your house is basically in this analogy your website. You build your website on hosting, similar to the case you build your house on your land.
Once you have your house and your land, you need an address and that the online address of your website is called URL or domain name.
In the case of this website, the domain name is hueyliew.com.au
These are the fundamental building blocks of your online presence.
In most cases, you may get your hosting, domains and websites from a single source, however I like to keep them separate for some not so obvious reasons. This will be a topic for another day.
